This collection contains information on the proposed and adopted amendments to the Indiana state constitution from 1851 to 1911. The information includes the number of the bill, the house of the legislature in which the bill was introduced, the author and party affiliation, the provisions proposed, the article and section to be amended, and the final disposition of the legislature.

The Indiana constitutional convention that drafted the 1851 Constitution began in Indianapolis on October 7, 1850. The document drafted at the 1850-1851 convention remains Indiana’s constitution to this day. However, since that time there have been several changes made to the constitution, including the use of gender-neutral language.
