The information below applies to you if you’re already licensed to work as a nurse in Georgia. If you hold a multi-state license, it will be automatically renewed once you complete the process for your single state license. If your primary residence is out of state, you must apply for licensure by examination or endorsement.
In Georgia, RN and LPN nursing licenses must be renewed every two years. The application is online, and the due date is January 31 of the year your license expires. The late renewal period is from February 1–28 of that same year.
CNAs must also renew their certifications every two years. This will enable them to stay current on Georgia’s Certified Nurse Aide Registry.
To complete the Georgia board of nursing license renewal process, registered nurses must meet the state’s continuing education requirements outlined in the RN Continuing Competency Packet. There are five options:
LPNs must complete 20 hours of continuing education or an accredited nursing academic program as described in the LPN Continuing Competency Education Packet.
Thankfully, you have plenty of options for how to meet your continuing education requirements — one of which is IntelyEdu. We offer plenty of courses, which are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
